Join James Corwin Johnson on this year’s spring workshop in Yosemite. Author of the Official Yosemite Photographers Guide, former resident and Director of Photo Services for Yosemite Park, on a magical photographic, seven-day tour and workshop. You don’t need to be an expert to participate. The trip is designed to be a learning experience for everyone. It doesn’t matter if you are shooting with a view camera or a cell phone you are guaranteed to come back with some great results.
Three-thousand-foot cliffs, two-thousand-foot waterfalls. James will share his extensive knowledge of Yosemite’s most famous landmarks & landscapes. lesser-known wonders and photographic techniques. You will meet & learn from some of James’s friends, who are some of Yosemite’s best photographers.
Throughout his tenure in Yosemite, James has led photo tours, camera walks & workshops for thousands of visitors through the park, including special guests and dignitaries for the Park Service and the concessionaire. His knowledge of the best times for locations & lighting conditions is guaranteed to provide some great photographic results.
The highlight of the spring trip is photographing the valley in the moonlight. If conditions are right, a lunar rainbow occurs on the majestic Yosemite Falls. Techniques on how to capture these spectacular natural wonders. Camera operation is demonstrated in the field, and discussed in a classroom setting prior to the shoots, to help guarantee results.
