Join James Corwin Johnson, author of the Official Yosemite Photographers Guide, former resident and Director of Photo Services for the park, on a magical photographic, tour and workshop, of the crowned Jewel of the National Parks. Popularized by Ansel Adams, in classic photographs, Yosemite Valley at this time of year is an experience that cannot be duplicated, and should not be missed.

Three thousand foot cliffs, and two thousand foot waterfalls, the Yosemite Valley is in the prime of its beauty, especially with the winter's worth of snow pack accumulating now.  This lat season precipitation promises prime conditions for waterfalls, wildflowers, access to the high country, and the East side of the Sierra Nevada.

Glacier Point Road and Tioga Road are open, as the gateway of the high Sierra.  Tuolumne Meadow, Cathedral Peak, and Tioga Pass, offer spectacular views, as we descend into the Owens Valley, Mono Lake, and the Ghost Town of Bodie.  James shares his extensive knowledge of Yosemite’s most famous landmarks, and lesser known wonders, that cannot be duplicated.

Throughout his tenure in the park, James led thousands of visitors through the park, including special guests and dignitaries for the National Park Service and the park concessionaire. His intimate knowledge of the best times for the lighting conditions, and natural phenomenon, is guaranteed to provide an experience of a lifetime, and some great photographic results.

The highlight of the Full Park Tour is
that the entire park is open.  On this trip, we will visit Mono lake, Bodie, Yosemite Valley, the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias, Hetch Hetchy Valley and more.

Photographic techniques, critiques, are demonstrated in the field.  Photoshop demonstrations, HDR, exposure and histograms and filters are discussed prior to the shoots to help guarantee dramatic results.
